PLAYING, TALKING, READING & WRITING – EARLY YEARS WORKSHOP R-3
There is a great deal of pressure on Early Childhood Teachers to get young children reading and writing as soon as possible, however, many of our your students are beginning school with very low oral language skills. This workshop examines how to develop children’s oral language skills leading to increased outcomes in reading and writing skills. This is a fun day full of games and exciting ways of teaching literacy. Areas of comprehension and beginning writing will be addressed. Teachers will learn how to plan an array of shared reading lessons and to build on what children already know. Participants will be motivated to immediately implement these activities in their workplace.
